We're getting there

Miss Aubree is really close to walking. She did very well walking back and forth between Bob and I. She just gets a little excited and ends up losing her balance. It's very entertaining to watch...the way she huffs and puffs and the pure joy on her face. Ah, to be so young and carefree!

Today my parents and grandmother came over and got to see her little show. She did even better than yesterday which was a pleasant surprise. Even managed to steady herself several times when it looked like she was going down. We are so proud of this little muchkin! She almost seems to little to walk and yet she is proving us wrong. My mom can't believe she can walk with such tiny feet (2).

If you would have told me this time last year how much my girl would develop, I wouldn't believe it. Not that I wouldn't think she could do it, but it's something that is not always easy to picture. It seems like in the past three months, she is learning so quickly and going at the speed of light. This little girl never wants to stop! Yep, I am pretty sure she has captured us with that sweet as honey smile and charming personality. This one is a keeper!!

Growing fast!

We've got lots of new changes going on in the Lawecki household. All to do with Aubree, so don't get your hopes up ; ) We're working on weaning Miss Bree. It may be sooner rather than later since I have to go on an antibiotic and the dr doesn't want me to nurse while taking it. It's been a rough go on getting her to drink soy, so we're trying different approaches to see what works.

Our little Bug is starting to shake her head "no". I think tonight she said "no" to most of what I asked her. It's funny and cute now, but I'm sure that it will not be so cute soon enough. Right now, that extreme head/body shake is adorable!

She's figured out how to climb the basement steps. Don't worry, daddy was with her! Normally we keep the basement door closed, but Sunday she was downstairs with daddy and found her way over there. She climbed them like she had done it before, so maybe she practices at night...we're not sure!

And she has been having a tough time with teething the last couple of days. Felt a bit feverish yesterday and tonight, so out came the Tylenol (teething tablets don't see to do it for her). I played our little "up, up, up, down, down, down" sliding on the legs game so I could get a peek in that mouth and it looks like one is getting ready to pop through. The other two still appear to be a little ways away from their debut. Poor girlie!

Okay, that's all we have for today. I know I need to get on here more. I'm attempting to give this blog a face lift. Just hard to find the time!

First trip to the zoo!

We had our first trip as a family to The Toledo Zoo today. I think we went at a bad time since a lot of the animals were sleeping. Ah well, it was still nice. The weather was beautiful and Aubree was intrigued by all of the new sights and sounds. What more could we ask for?

We had been waiting throughout the summer due to the heat and we just weren't sure if Aubree would be up for the zoo just yet. Well, I think everything overwhelmed her, but she still seemed to enjoy herself. Since a lot of animals were snoozing, she didn't really take notice unless they were moving. Her favorite part?? The aquarium! She squealed when she saw the fish, lol. She pounded on the glass and bounced up and down. Apparently she likes fish!

We are definitely getting a zoo membership next year. I am sure next spring/summer she will really enjoy herself. It was such a treat for us to watch her!

In the picture I'm posting with this, it may be hard to tell, but Bob and Aubree's reflection is in the glass. It turned out pretty neat. This is the big male silverback gorilla. He seems to like watching people so close. Glad we have a barrier between us!

More teeth?

I got a peek in Aubree's mouth this morning and it looks like there are 3 teeth up top right under the surface. For over a week now, Bree has been clamping her teeth (all 3 of 'em) together a lot. I'm not sure if it's because she's not used to feeling that top tooth or if it's the pressure of the 3 new ones. Could be a little of both. At any rate, I sure hope her teeth come in soon. I know she's been uncomfortable...although I do have to say she is in a really good mood lately. I can't wait to see what she looks like with more teeth.
